About IALP Communication Sciences and Disorders on a global scale
IALP is the “UN” of our field
Communication Sciences and Disorders is not only a local profession. It is part of major global decisions on health, communication and inclusion — and this is exactly the level at which the International Association of Communication Sciences and Disorders (IALP) operates.
IALP holds consultative status with several organisations, including the World Health Organization (WHO). This means that when global guidance and priorities are discussed around hearing, communication, language and swallowing, IALP contributes to the international dialogue that informs those directions.
Founded in 1924, IALP has spent a century supporting the science that underpins professional practice worldwide. Bringing IALP to Brazil is not merely hosting an event — it is welcoming an international standard of excellence to Brazilian Communication Sciences and Disorders.
